Bite of Bread: Studying Romans 12/ Living Sacrifices

Romans 121 weave

How do we live as living sacrifices? What does that look like?

Last week the Bite of Bread reading plan started with the end of chapter 11 in the book of Romans and went through Romans 12:3.  The last three days we read,

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices holy and pleasing to the God–this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing, and perfect will.” (Romans 12:1-3)

And that is where we pick up this week.

Bite of Bread Romans 12

Paul writes about not living in the pattern of this world. He tells us we should think differently, our thoughts renewed and refreshed to God’s way of thinking. He promises this will help us know what God wants for our lives which is always pleasing and perfect and good.

Most of us have been living for the things we think would make us happy (what the world says makes us happy). But I know, personally, that what I thought would make my life grand failed in the fulfilling department.

Come find out how to align your way of thinking and living with God. It’s not as difficult and painful as you think.

Pour a cup of coffee. Kick off your shoes, and stay awhile. Jot down the Bite of Bread in your journal and write a prayer for the Lord to speak to you through these verses this week. Something happens when we take time to chew on Scripture one bite at a time.

And. . . . as promised. . .
