The Bible Changed My Life

Life is not easy. Amen? But God is so faithful. It is because of His faithfulness that I write. It’s also because of His faithfulness and goodness that my faith grows every day as I find the abundant life inside His Word. But before I tell you more about my passion, let me share a little bit about myself.

I was born Andrea, but like many biblical characters, God changed my name at a critical time in my life when I chose Jesus to be my Savior for a second and final time. It had been a lonely year without Him searching for the unity of all religions. What I realized years later once God filled my empty places within was Jesus really is the key. Many religions believe in God, but none recognize Him as Savior.

My good friend debating with me about religion said something very profound about the Bible. I was questioning its truth. She held a Bible with both hands and said “Andy, you’ve got to take all of it or none of it!”

My response was, “I want it all!”

The next Sunday I plunged into the waters of baptism and came out rubbing my hands together. I was ready to move forward with my calling and my faith never again to look back or deny Jesus.

The Challenges of Life

And then life happened. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Marriage, a war (literally–Desert Storm), babies, buried dreams, loved ones taken by cancer, empty nest syndrome (which I’m still navigating) and well . . . life.

Life is challenging.

I know what it’s like to have a life full of blessings while fighting a heart restless and depressed. I’ve found my hope time and time again in Jesus and the life inside the Bible. And that’s why I know how to live abundantly through the life in the Word.

The Bible is where I find joy when joy is nowhere to be found. It’s where I drink deeply of the living waters within. Reading the Bible does not get us to heaven, it brings heaven to us.

Come join this life journey with me.

  2. Hi Andy Lee! I love your name. Saw your post in Word Weavers on the ABCs of blogging and figured I’d find your blog and give it a shot. I have a technical blog question in regards to sign ups like the one you are featuring in the sidebar of your site. The question is how do I incorporate that plugin (is it a plugin?) into my own blog without paying for a WordPress business plan? I want to give an ebook to subscribers but the only thing I’ve found so far is EDD (Easy Digital Downloads) plugin, only available to me if I pay for the WordPress business plan…I’m stumped. Hope this isn’t an inconvenience to you. You can email me back if you’d rather… Thanks!

I love stories about name origins.

    1. Hey Cindy, actually there is a little bit more to the story! But it’s a long story. Anyway, if you love the stories about name origins, you would enjoy my book, A Mary Like Me: Flawed Yet Called. There names play an important role. I talk about names in my Ruth Bible study too! Blessings, Andy
