Bite of Bread Reading Plan: Think Good Thoughts All Day Long

Every summer I buy ferns to hang on my back deck and my front porch. And every summer they never grow like I hope they will. I pass other homes and wonder, “Wow… how do they grow such big ferns? They must have bought them somewhere really special or they must have a super green thumb.”

But this summer, I started a new habit. Rather than watering my ferns once or twice (if they were lucky) a week, I water them everyday while my coffee is brewing.

EVERYDAY.

Not once a week, or twice.

It’s amazing the difference in my plants this year.

Our spirits are the same way.

The Bite of bread is just a bite, a little bit of water every morning, but it gives our minds and spirits something to chew on, let sink in and water our souls each day.

The scriptures this week are just that, Living Water for your soul.

“Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” Phil. 4:8

Grab your coffee (water your plants while it’s brewing), light a candle, grab a journal…write down the verses. They go down deeper when you write them down.

I’m reading and writing with you. The plan starts Monday.
