Bite of Bread: Prophecies and Realities

I hope this week, despite the busyness of this time of year, we can find time every morning to sit in silence. Despite our late nights, let’s set our alarm clocks an hour early.

Anybody throwing tomatoes at me yet?

This is what I know. This is what I’ve learned through all my years as a Christian and especially my “mommy” years. I need silence to experience His Presence and hear His voice. And no other silence fills me like the early morning kind when it’s still dark outside.

Now, I realize that this simply does not work for everybody. So, grace is given! But please find the time of day that works for you and find a silent place. That means a coffee shop won’t work–not for your quiet time this week.

The prophecies we studied last week were so powerful that I’ve added some more for this reading plan. Actually, after three hours trying to discern what we were to read this week, and making two other reading plans, He led me to this plan I wrote in 2014. It was called “The Prophecies and the Power.” As I read each day, I knew, this was what we should study together.

The Bite of Bread scriptures are powerful. They are thought provoking, majestic, eternal words that cut through time. They are words proclaiming the divinity of Jesus who stepped down from His throne of light to meet us in the darkness. Words prophesying His power, authority and victory. And words that just might help us understand why the Jewish people and leaders were expecting a different kind of Messiah.

If we learn anything from this week’s prophecies, may we learn that God always has a better plan than we can fathom, and His ways of fulfilling that plan do not look like we assume.

Light your candle, pour your tea or coffee, gather your journal and pen. And sit. with. the. Savior.

I’m looking forward to unpacking these verses with you on my Daily Broadcast! Meet me on my Facebook personal page (Andy Lee (Andrea Stone)) to watch at 8:20 AM ET. Monday, I will be broadcasting later in the morning. I am going to be on our local radio station, Life 90.5, at the 8 o’clock hour in an interview about our Beauty for Ashes retreat coming up in February! It’s not live. It’s recorded, but I want to hear it. :) A little nervous. And praying for GRACE!

Can I pray for us today? Grab my hands.

“Lord, we love you so much. Settle our hearts. Wake us up early. Open our ears and eyes to You. I pray the Scripture breathes as we read it this week, and these familiar verses take on new life. Thank you for coming down here. We are forever indebted, yet thanks to you and our Father-God’s magnificent plan we are saved by grace and the debt is paid. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.”

What is your favorite scripture?

Digging Deep,

Andy
