Bite of Bread: Preparing our Hearts for Christmas and Key Word Bible Giveaway

[Don’t miss the details at the end of the post on how to enter to win a Key Word Bible!]

But first….

The turkey is almost gone and there is only one more slice of pumpkin pie.

My Christmas wreaths are hung on the doors and a few lights twinkle on the bushes in the yard, but the inside of my house still looks like Thanksgiving.

It’s been a busy fall. This year more than ever I’m feeling the need to slow down and focus on Jesus to prepare for December 25th. I know I’m not alone in this desire. We love the festivities of this season–the decorating and gift buying, but we don’t want our secular traditions to take away from Jesus…the reason for the celebration.

I want the inside of my heart to match the outside of me just as the inside of my house will soon be decorated for Christmas too. For me, the decorating and preparing process is a daily thing. My heart is the same way. I must focus daily on Christ’s coming.

So, for the next 25 days the Bite of Bread will be focused on Jesus. The prophecies. The events leading to HIS entry. HIS birth. HIS names. And who we are in HIM.

Gather your journal and Bible, light a candle, pour your coffee and let’s [tweetability]begin to prepare our hearts for the birth of God wrapped in skin.[/tweetability]

May this Christmas be different.
