Waiting on God for our Goals

write down the vision

None of us like to wait.

And I have a feeling that many of us feel pressured this time of year to make our resolutions, or get our “One Word“, or set goals. We’re only days away from ringing in 2016.

But I want to encourage us to take our time.

The vision might linger. But it will come.

Some of us want to find purpose. We want to find our passion and dreams. We’ve lost them somewhere in the chaos of life.

The vision might linger. But it will come.

Wait for it.

And while you’re waiting, seek Him. Don’t seek the vision or the dream. Don’t seek the One Word or the goals. . . seek the Dream-Giver. The Word-Giver. The Goal-Maker.

Delight yourself

I promise.

But don’t take my word for it, take His.

Let’s pray, “Lord, slow us down. Help us run to silent places where we can hear your voice and see your visions. What do you want to give us this year Lord? Draw us closer to your heart-beat. Give us minds of Christ and eyes to see as you do. Help us experience your love in deeper ways so that our trust will grow. Because that is really what this life is all about. Learning to trust you. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.”

Waiting with you,

Just discovered your blog! Ten years ago I crossed two continents, an ocean and a sea for a job interview without waiting on God! Ultimately I labeled it the N…Fiasco! it was a hard lesson, but He got my attention! Currently, I feel something brewing so am waiting: listening, writing, and reading, but most of all wondering in anticipation and a bit restless!

    1. Hi Judith! So glad you found my blog! It sounds like you have had quite an experience. I know that He blesses faith too. Even when we are wrong. He loves faith. Your restlessness could be Him telling you something. I’ve written about that. Just type in “restless” in the search box. I will be praying for clarity for you. Blessings! Thanks for stopping by.
