Bite of Bread

7 Scriptures on Being Brave #Bite of Bread

He looked ridiculous. He was half the size of the man he volunteered to fight, and the king’s armor weighed more than he did.

The helmet drooped over his left eye, the breast plate clunked as he tried to walk, and the sword was too heavy for his adolescent arms. One day those arms would yield large swords–he’d even use the sword of the giant he was about to kill, but today he needed to use his own weapons.

I’m always encouraged by the story of David’s unabandoned faith that God would help him kill Goliath.

He was brave.

I want to be like that. How about you?

I don’t know anyone who isn’t facing a giant right now.

Some of our giants are taller than others. Some more threatening. Some downright dangerous.

But a giant is a giant, a problem is a problem, a mountain is a pain to climb no matter how ginormous or not.

So, I just had a feeling that this would be a good week to study scriptures on being brave.

Bite of Bread Brave edit

Pour your coffee, and grab your journal and pen. Jot the verses down or print this page. I’ll meet you every morning on Facebook Live at 8:20 ET. I cannot wait to dig into these scriptures with you. I missed you last week!

If you need encouragement, grit and spiritual muscle, this Bite of Bread is for you. Remember David’s words to Goliath:

You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, to whom you have defied. This day the LORD will hand you over to me, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head” (1 Samuel 17:45,46).

And he did.

And so will we, in the name of JESUS.

Digging Deep,

Andy
