Are you on a pilgrimage?

How lovely is your dwelling
place,
O Lord Almighty!
My soul yearns and even faints,
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the Living God.

Even the sparrow has found a
home,

and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may have her young–
a place near your altar,
O Lord Almighty, my King
and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in
your house;
they are ever praising you.

Blessed are those whose strength is in you.
Who have set their hearts on
pilgrimage…
(Psalm 84:1-5)

Pilgrimage: a journey made by a pilgrim to a holy place.

Pilgrim: 1. a person who travels about; wanderer 2. a person who travels to a holy place

Blessed are those whose strength is in You.
Who have set their hearts on
pilgrimage…

We long to be settled some place, to be at home here, and we long to have dreams and goals. But blessed are those who are wanderers in this world whose dream/goal is God Himself. Their hearts are set on the journey to Jesus rather than the dreams of this world.

…As they pass through the Valley of
Baca,
they make it a place of springs;
the autumn rains also cover it with pools (blessings);
They go from strength to
strength,
till each appears in
Zion. (Psalm 84:6,7)

Those whose heart are set on pilgrimage rather than the poverbial carrot/dream, are satisfied. They are strong, and their presence brings blessings to those they meet on the journey.

I want my heart to be set on pilgrimage. How about you?

Much grace and peace,
andy
