His praise will always be on my lips.
My soul will boast in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Glorify the Lord with me;
let us exalt his name together.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
He delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to Him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
Psalm 34:1-5
North Carolina has seen sunshine this week. It’s been glorious even though I’ve been indoors nursing my cold/flu. Despite the lure of the hope of spring, it’s been good to have to slow down. I’ve pondered much and felt the Presence of my Comforter and Healer even with my constant cough, fever and chills.
I keep hearing the Lord whisper, “This too will pass…” So, I sit back, thank Him for modern medicine, and wait. But I don’t wait alone.
In these quiet, slow days the Lord has been doing some heart and faith surgery. He’s been wooing me to Him- not to His healing power but to Him.
It’s a good place to be. I hope you manage to avoid the flu. Get your flu shots!
But in the mean time, ask yourself what your focus is on. Is it on problems? On the need for God’s healing touch? Or on the Healer Himself. I pray He draws you into His presence, and there you find peace. When we look to Him our faces are radiant! How I pray we will shine no matter what our circumstances. People can’t resist a shiney face.
Much love,
andy
