It’s one of those perplexing verses at first glance.
“Therefore, dear friends, as you have always obeyed –not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence–continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purposes.” Philippians 2:12,13.
What?!!! What about grace? What about saved by faith?
If you read a verse that doesn’t seem to line up with other verses, that’s when you’ve got to start digging.
So, I did.
I hope you con’t mind, but today called for an overlapping of the many things I do. So, rather than writing about this scripture, I’m sharing my live Periscope broadcast with you.
Click on the link below to watch my Periscope for today and find out what Paul meant. Warning: This is not a professional, beautiful, edited video. This is what Periscope, live streaming, looks like! I do it every morning at 8:30, and I love interacting with the community of people who join me everyday for a “bite” to chew on.
If you think, “I want to do that!”, Join Twitter and then get the Periscope free app on your smart phone.
Hope this encourages you, and I’ll see you next week with a new Bite of Bread reading plan!
I’d love to hear your feedback from the scope. Leave a comment. Does this new understanding of Philippians 2:12 encourage you?
