This is one of my favorite stories in the Bible.
Hagar was Sarai’s servant. Sarai (Sarah) and Abram (Abraham) had given up on God’s timing and decided they would help God with His plan for a son. Hagar was the surrogate mother. This caused Sarai to become jealous and treat Hagar badly even though the scheme was her idea.
How we can mess things up when we try to do it on our own!
So much pain. So much heartache.
But it’s hard to wait on God. To trust His timing….so we begin to doubt and listen to the lying voice inside of our heads that tells us to take the reigns and do it ourselves.
Has God promised something in your life or placed a desire in your heart that hasn’t happened yet?
Are you caught in the middle of a human plan that went wrong?
God Sees.
He is present. Cry out to Him.
He told Hagar to go back. His instruction was partnered with a promise. He saw her circumstances, but more importantly, He saw her heart.
The same God who saw Hagar is the Living God who is active and present today.
