Bible Reading Plan, Challenge

Bite of Bread: January 6-12 (30 Day Knee Challenge)

What’s the first thing you do in the morning?

facebook feed

A. check your Facebook feed

B. make coffee

C. get on your knees in prayer

Years ago I was desperate. Life was hard, or so it seemed. Now after watching cancer take my sister and a good friend, what I thought was terribly hard was really just spilled milk compared to the battles others are going through.

Yet. My difficulties put me on my knees every morning.

It is such a good place to be.

It’s a wonderful habit. I confess that sometimes my coffee gets made and Facebook feed gets a look before my knees hit the carpet, and there are  days they never do. But most mornings I find myself there just for a little bit. It’s become a friendly place, a place of peace.

It’s the new year, time for new beginnings, challenges and changes.

I want to invite you to the 30 Day Knee Challenge.

For the next 30 days, when you get out of bed, before you make coffee or check the Facebook feed on your smart phone, get on your knees and pray. You don’t have to stay there long. (I want you to be able to get up.)

On my knees confession pours out of me, worship, and petitions.

On our knees we humble ourselves before the One who made us, loves us, saves us.

There is no better place to be. It can be life changing.

I’ll be there with you, and then I’ll be reading these scriptures with you. Did you use the questions from last week? Did they help in your reading and journaling?

With Joy,

andy
