Bite of Bread: 7 Promises of God

I asked Google.

“How many promises of God are in the Bible?”

One answer was 3,573 and the other was 5,467. I’m not sure what the discrepancy is, but I do know that those answers proved that the Bible is FULL of God’s promises. Thousands of promises.

I was thinking the answer to my question was like, 50 or 100, but not thousand(s).

Thousands.

Isn’t that amazing? And isn’t that just so very much like our God? His promises fill the Bible.

When my simple mind thinks about promises of God I think of verses that promise answer to prayer or healing or peace, but there are so many more wonderful and amazing promises from God. The seven promises I’ve chosen for this week’s Bite of Bread are not your typical go-to promises. But they are so very important because they paint the picture of God, of who He is.

Bite of Bread 7 Promises

I’m only giving seven promises this week, but they are promises that go deep. They involve the character of our God and His big plan for us, salvation, the Holy Spirit, hearing our prayers, and peace.

I can’t wait to share them with you on our Daily Broadcast. I’ll try to put it up on our Facebook Fellowship page, but I’ve been having technical problems lately, and that is why I haven’t been consistently sharing on FB. I also post a scripture image on our FB page, Twitter, and Instagram. I’m @wordsbyandylee on Twitter, Instagram, and Periscope.

If you haven’t noticed, I’m giving away a 22 Day devotional on Psalm 119 to my subscribers. If you don’t receive my posts in you inbox, simply subscribe in the box on the sidebar, and you’ll get your free devotional. If you are a subscriber and did not receive my e-mail with this gift or couldn’t download it, please leave a comment and I’ll send it to you.

Finally! We have a winner for the giveaway on Friday. Dwelling Places by Lucinda Secrest McDowell. Lucinda is going to send an autographed copy to the winner. . . . I’ll be drawing the name on my Periscope broadcast this morning at 8:20. I’ll update this post when I draw the winner! [Update!! The winner is Debbie Johnson! Congratulations!]

I want to leave you today with one final thought about the promises of God.

Let’s grab a hold of them this week.

I feel very blessed! My Heavenly Father has blessed me with faithful and loving children & grandchildren… I would love & admire them even if they were not my own. His promises are forever. In every time in my life He had my support ready & in place before I was aware of how very much they were needed. Andy and this group of Prayer Warriors are a very large part of His promise to me. My joy is overflowing.. Thank you, Jesus!

    1. We are blessed to have you! Thank you Janice for all of your encouragement and prayers. You stir up my joy too. :)
