I’m digging out and dusting off some of my favorites for the next few days…
What if the world stopped just for a day?
What if all problems for one moment went away?
What if I could grasp eternity and see what’s ahead?
What if I chose to surrender the lead to be led?
How would vision of the future cause within me change?
Would the knowledge be sweet or would I be enraged?
These questions all depend upon the source
Who I follow, trust, and surrender my life’s course.
Oh Lord, please help me surrender today
Help me give You what I eat, think, and say
Help me trust You to be faithful to my friends in need
Be so very close they can feel You breathe.
Help me step into intimate moments with You
Where the world stops for a moment or two.
Where for a brief second troubles go away
Oh Lord, keep me here to stay.
Fill me up before You send me on my way.
Fill me Lord just enough for today
Give me manna, may I not complain.
My heart, Oh Lord, You sustain.
Our hearts Oh Lord, You sustain.
But I will sing of your strength,in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. O my Strength, I sing praise to you; you, O God, are my fortress, my loving God. (Psalm 59:16,17)
