…But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world and we take nothing out of it (1 Timothy 6:6).
Godliness with contentment.
Can you have godliness without contentment? Yes. Guilty.
Paul continues to write to Timothy:
But you, man of God, flee from all this, (the love of money and desire to be famous) and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses (1 Timothy 6:12).
We cannot live godly, content lives without a heavenly perspective. And you my friends are so important to the heavenly plan. Each of us plays a very important role for the Kingdom. It may seem a small role in this world’s economy, but it is great to God–whether to a neighbor or a nation.
Pursue Him. Pursue faith…..love…. endurance…. gentleness. These are our boxing gloves.
This is the good fight of faith.
What are we fighting for these days? Maybe we should trade in our fights for the good one.
Much grace and peace,
andy
