Faith Friday thoughts:

Life can be like a rollercoaster at Six Flags. One of my favorite memories of summer growing up was our family’s annual trip to this amusement park. It was always so hot in Dallas, Texas in July. But I loved it—especially the rollercoasters even though the lines were long as we waited for our turn. I loved the thrill of the slow ride to the top and the crazy drop down with sudden curves and loops. I never feared for my life once. I never worried.

Life is not a fun ride at your favorite amusement park, but we all know those long waits and how life can heat up, and those sudden drops and loops and turns. It’s hard, but God.

I’ve been on a gnarly rollercoaster the past two years, but the Lord has been faithful. He is so consistent. He knows me, trusts me, and has the best plans for my life. I can trust him. You can trust him.

The second verse on the Prince of Peace reading plan was Isa. 26:2. I needed this verse. It came at just the right time as our plans seemed to take a sudden turn. The Lord whispered in my spirit, “Read the verse for Day 2.” As I read these words, I not only felt peace, I felt promise. His peace is a promise. It’s a promise of His goodness, faithfulness, and wisdom for my life.

The next verse is:
“Trust in the LORD forever,
For the LORD, the LORD, is the
Rock eternal.

Whatever comes your way today. Whatever rollercoaster ride you’re experiencing, trust Him. Claim Isa 26:3, and experience His peace like I did. Give yourself some grace. It’s going to be okay. He’s got it.

Is anybody else getting this word from the Lord? (

Is anybody else getting this word from the Lord? (I know of one other sister.)

On my "wog" (walk/jog) this morning, I kept hearing this word. It's been stirring in my spirit lately, this nudge to start running again, to continue writing and submitting proposals, to work mind, body, and spirit no matter how weak I feel or how old in years my body is. Push. Push. Push.

I've always been more of a laid back, fan of sabbath and grace girl, but though these are important truths, some chapters in our lives we're called to PUSH through. PUSH through for the breakthrough. PUSH through for the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual strength. Work those muscles! Al.l Of. Them.

This scripture has been on my mind, "Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make level the paths for your feet," so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed" (Hebrews 12: 12).

PUSH beloved. PUSH. This isn't the season to rest. This is not my normal word. I even feel funny writing it, but I'm just passing on what the Lord is saying to me. Maybe He is saying it to you too and this is confirmation. Let me know if it is! 🔥

If He is saying the opposite to you, don't take it on. Rest until your time comes to Push.

As I read our scripture today on our Good Shepherd

As I read our scripture today on our Good Shepherd #readingplan, I was struck by the familiarity and comfort the disciples had with Jesus. They were so comfortable with Him, they argued with His words. They denied what He already knew. It made me wonder if I do that with Jesus. Do I ever argue with Him, or disagree with His wisdom? How different would it have been for the disciples if they had heeded this prophecy and prayed for it not to happen rather than trusting their own strength?

This really gives me pause. And it stirs this prayer. "Good Shepherd, please don't let me be so comfortable with you that I deny your Word or prompting of the Spirit. If you've warned me, let me take heed of it rather than ignore or deny your words. I pray this for the other sheep in the pasture with me here. Help us trust every word even when we don't like it. Show us how to pray rather than deny. Open our ears and hearts to trust you even when it's a hard word. We love you.

Amen."

The early morning walks/runs are breathtaking this time of year. My walking buddy was out of town today, so I had worship music in my ears. Why don’t I do that every day? Y’all, if you haven’t tried it, please do. It will lift your spirit. It’s all connected my friends! Mind, body, and soul. Go see a sunrise and get your groove on worshiping the one who painted it for you!
