I don’t know how your heart feels today. I don’t know if you’re alone or with a ton of family or friends. I don’t know if your cup is running over or if a hole in your heart is leaking the little bit of hope and joy you had. Maybe your heart hurts so bad you physically ache. But this one thing I do know is it’s going to be okay. I know you are not alone. I know the reason scripture tells us to rejoice and be thankful is because these are the keys to freedom. Praise and thanksgiving has the ability to close the oozing wound. I know because I’ve experienced God’s healing. It happened when I lifted my hands and danced with Him again. I’m okay. I still miss the wonderful memories of Thanksgivings past, but my blessings aren’t measured by today. They are measured by His goodness which never ends. I don’t think of myself as a person with haters, I don’t think of myself as a person with haters, but recently I’ve acquired one. No matter what I do or say, I can’t help her see my side. I’m a people pleaser, so when I come across an individual telling people how awful I am and spreading lies about me because her truth is not the truth, it’s haaaaarrrrrrd. But God. I’ve been praying he would redeem the situation. And he is, but it takes time. So, this morning I’ve been praying about my next steps in this situation, and I clicked on the YouVersion Bible app. And this verse popped up. I love when the Lord does that. He confirmed what I was thinking. And the cool thing is, I don’t expect that my next actions will change her perspective of me, but it will change my heart. Bless your enemies. Bless their socks off. Don’t wage war as the world does. Pray for those who spread untruths about you. It doesn’t matter how disappointed, worried, or It doesn’t matter how disappointed, worried, or discouraged you are, there’s always something good about a new day. Psalm 118:24 reminds us that this is the day the Lord has made and we are invited to rejoice in it. But I learned that this verse is talking about a very special day. I just published an article about it. The meaning of this scripture and the history behind it is incredible. It connects the Old Testament to the New to the future when Jesus comes back. I love this truth! How many of the things you worr I love this truth! How many of the things you worry about never happen? How many times has your worry come true, but it wasn't as bad as you feared? I've experienced this truth so many times. Yet the third truth is what gives me the greatest peace. I have experienced God carrying me through the most painful seasons of my life, and even when I couldn't feel him, he proved himself faithful. He never let go even in my grief and disappointment.
