Testimony

Yesterday I promised my testimony. This is what God has done.

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, ‘I used everything you gave me.’ Erma Bombeck

Exactly a year ago, I felt the Spirit nudge me to query our local paper about writing a faith column or blog. Many times when I start writing a quote or Scripture or conversation jumps starts it. I had found this quote by Erma Bombeck which shaped the query and articles. I wanted to encourage people to get involved in food pantries, clothing closets, soup-kitchens and other service opportunities in Wilmington. I never heard a word from the paper. It was a silent rejection. Whether or not I heard the Lord correctly, I acted in faith. I took the plunge. I tried.

He blessed it. Maybe He wanted me to send that query last year in order to experience His hand today. Because I have been hired by a new web site as a local blogger to write about….Christian Service! That’s the title of my blog on the new site. It just kind of fell into place that way. The editor gave the blog that focus and title. I am humbled and amazed. The Lord is giving me an even bigger and better opportunity than last year’s effort would’ve provided.

I share this with you- this testimony of His faithfulness to remind us all that meat does fall from the sky. A job can be in the next phone call or e-mail. And a desire of your heart may just be around the corner. God honors faith. He delights in our faith. He blesses faith. Sometimes a year after we’ve stepped out of the boat and sunk.

He is working behind the scenes all the time.

Much faith my friends!
