Description
I love the Hebrew word Chesed (Kes-ed).
In its simplest terms chesed means merciful acts of loving-kindness, but the ancient chesed always involved a covenant between two parties, one greater than the other. It’s all throughout scripture. Many times it’s translated as love, mercy, or loving-kindness, but it means so much more than our one word translation. For example:
“The Lord’s loving-kindness (chesed) indeed never ceases. For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning. Great is thy faithfulness” (Lamentations 3: 22-23).
He promised His chesed, and God does not break a promise. His merciful acts of loving-kindness never cease. Chesed is active. It’s not a feeling or emotion, but actions.
In both of my books, the teaching of chesed is foundational. I pray these beautiful pieces of jewelry created by Red Clay Creations will help you remember God’s kindness and mercy that He gives us every day. You can read more about Chesed in my article here.
