God's love

Practice Makes Perfect

The cursor blinked impatiently this morning on the blank white screen facing me.

I prayed, “Lord, what do you want me to write today? How can I bless the Marys? What focus? What truth?”

“Tell them I love them.” He said.

“Really? That’s all? I’ve told them that before.”

“Tell them again.”

This was the conversation that prompted today’s post. No deep theological wisdom do I have to impart to you today, just the basis of our faith. For if we do not believe this; we are empty, frustrated, confused, and lost.

God loves you.

CHALLENGE: As you “do” your day today, whenever a joy pops up say, “He loves me.” Whenever a problem pops up repeat, “He loves me.”  In the same way, remember this truth for the people along your path today. After you talk with a friend on the phone say, “He loves her.” Likewise when a bad driver cuts you off in traffic say out loud in your car, “God loves him.”

See if there is any difference in your day as you practice His love for you and those around you.

Practice makes perfect.

Much grace and peace,

Andy

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love (1 John 4:18).
