the love of God

My Allie Cat

I’m holding my breath.

One of my four legged, furry alarm clocks is in my lap. She wants some lovin’. But as I pet her with one hand and try to type with the other, she loves me back by licking my typing hand. Thus I’m holding my breath. (She has halitosis due to gingivitis.)

Her actions are frustrating and endearing at the same time. But she’s lovin’ me back the best she can.

I wonder if there is anything I do for God that is frustrating and endearing to Him at the same time. I’m sure there is. But I also know, that if I (a selfish human being) would love on a needy cat, my heavenly Father will surely accept my love.

Allie sat in my lap for a few minutes until she got tired of waiting for me to pet her a couple of times only to start typing again. (I couldn’t write the whole post with one hand! Peck. Peck. Peck.) If she would’ve simply laid down in my lap, she could’ve sat here with me all day.

Mmmmm….I’m feeling another analogy coming on.

Climb into His lap. And sit there as long as you can.

He has all day.

Much grace and peace,
andy

He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul.
(Psalm 23:2)
