What does it mean to find purpose beyond today?
It means finding eternal purpose. . . purpose beyond what will fade away.
For many years I struggled with this thing called “purpose”. I wrestled with my identity and my vocation as a full time stay-at-home mom. Surrounded by blessings, even filled with Jesus, I felt something was missing.
I wondered if I’d missed my “calling”.
I wrestled with my value.
Salary measures the worth of the job, right? I know, this is not true, but it is the world’s perspective. And we live in this world.
In those lonely, dark days the Lord began to show me something very important. He slowly taught me. . .

He taught me how to live my life as a calling rather than wait for the big call to go to Africa or to be the next Beth Moore, Rick Warren, or Mother Teresa.
The simple fact that I was breathing was a calling as a Christian. But this truth wasn’t just for me. It’s for all of us.
We are called to point people to life after this one. We are called to help a hurting world. We are called to bring heaven to earth. We are called to bring God glory.
It’s that simple and that complex at the same time. And, yes, He does have individualized callings and purposes for each of us, but I’ve got this sneaky feeling that until we get this eternal perspective, we either won’t hear the calls or they will lay empty inside of us.
Even if we step out in faith in those purposes, they won’t bring a full measure of joy because we are grasping for greatness rather than embracing the One Who Is GREAT.
We’re only here for a little while, but life doesn’t end after our last breath. I’m here to remind you that we are on this planet for so much more than putting in our eighty or so years.
You are alive to make a difference for eternity.

Over the years you have stayed by my side through sickness confusion weeping loss of faith , even after moving to North Carolina you have never left my side you answer my texts almost within half an hour thank you, I want to be like Jesus and like You. So true! Once we become a Christian our very lives, no matter how mundane, are a PURPOSE AND CALLING.
