A Prayer Request

Yesterday’s post was not finished! I didn’t give the reference to my words. They were actually my translation of Colossians 4:2-6.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful (expecting) and thankful. And pray for us too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

I cannot read it enough. How I wish I could jump into the pool of these words and soak for a long time until they become my DNA. It blows me away how Paul’s words written before electricity, cars, and flushing toilets, impact our lives today.

I am persuaded to ask for prayer. I believe God has had me on a sabbatical for the last three years, but I’m feeling that things may be changing. If Paul prayed for open doors, how much more should we?
Will you please pray for God to open doors for speaking and writing opportunities for me? Will you pray for open doors for my book, A Mary Like Me, to be published?

There really is nothing that gives me greater joy than preachin’ Jesus. Please pray that I will proclaim the mysteries of Christ with clarity when the opportunities come. Holy Spirit anointing as I walk through those open doors you prayed for.

And in the meantime, may I not forget that every day provides opportunities to share my faith.  Open doors don’t always look like I want them to look. I’m sure Paul questioned his chains and could not see the huge door he was walking through as he wrote letters that would impact generations to come.

“Lord, please take me out of the equation in my mind. Let it be all about you and the salvation of those you place in my path.”

I love you my friends. How can I pray for you?

Grace and peace,
andy

PS. Tomorrow we will get back to Mary and Elizabeth. (smile)
