Mark your calendars for a weekend of amazing worship, a beautiful new venue, and inspirational messages to build God’s daughters up. He loves us. He wants to give us a crown of beauty for our ashes. He wants you to be filled and renewed for all that you’ve been called to do.
This year’s theme is Selah. It means to pause, consider, and think about. Life is extremely busy. This is a weekend to slow down and recharge. No responsibilities. No dishes to wash or meals to cook. We’ve extended the retreat to an entire weekend of worship, laughter, learning, and filling up. Our new venue is an ocean front property. All the rooms face the ocean!
Friday night: 6:00-7:30 PM registration, check-in, mix and mingle (Dinner on our own. Several restaurants in walking distance. Have fun and explore.)
7:45 PM- Worship night on the beach (We are sooo excited about this! Dress warm!)
Saturday: 8:00 AM- Breakfast provided by Marriott.
9:30-11:30 AM Session One (Worship, teaching, and break-out groups)
Lunch on our own- There will be vendors to shop!
1:30-3:30 PM Session Two (Worship, teaching, break-out groups and GAFA dancers!)
3:30-5:00 PM Free time (Remember, this is a retreat. We want you to have time to rest.)
5:30 PM Dinner provided by Marriott
7:00 PM Session Three
9:00 PM Stretchy pants, snacks, games, and fellowship
Sunday: 9:00 AM- Breakfast and Worship on the Boardwalk

Things to bring: Bible, journal, and pen, beach chair/blanket, flashlight, warm apparel for the beach, money for vendors, raffles, and lunch Saturday, swimsuit for the indoor pool and hot-tub, and work-out clothes for the hotel gym. 🙂

Reserve your room with Marriott. $79 per night Double room sleeps 4 or Suites that sleep 6- $109 per night. (Split the room cost with roommates!)
The reservation deadline has passed with Marriott. If you want to stay, but missed the special price deadline, leave a post on our Facebook event page, and we’ll see if we can find a space for you. Marriott will have rooms available but may not give our special retreat price after January 20.

Andy Lee loves teaching the Bible and encouraging women more than eating chocolate. And she likes chocolate a lot. She wrote A Mary Like Me: Flawed Yet Called, and The Book of Ruth Key Word Bible Study: A 31-Day Journey to Hope and Promise. She teaches two Bible study groups at Lifepoint Church, leads a local Christian writers critique group called Word Weavers, is the managing editor for the Florida Christian Writers Conference blog, a monthly contributor to www.gabbingirls.com ,and she ministers weekly on her blog Daily Grace here at www.wordsbyandylee.com. She also broadcasts the Bite of Bread daily on Facebook Live. She’s spoken at retreats throughout the country and is mom to three grown kids and one kitty named Hank. She and her husband, Mike, live in Wilmington, NC.
Venus Schrader has spent the past seven years in pursuit of emotional healing, from the traumatic events of her childhood. On the brink of throwing in the towel on life and God, she received the revelation that she was Daddy’s Girl. This opened the door to a process of healing that has forever changed her life. She has lead women’s bible study, taught Sunday school, and she has also ministered to homeless and runaway teens and single moms. Venus enjoys spending time with her family and friends, while exploring the wonders of life. She is the mother of four adult children, a handsome son and three beautiful daughters. And she has four precious grandchildren. Venus lives in Wilmington, NC, with her husband Randy and two granddaughters.

The grandchild of Italian immigrants and NC tobacco sharecroppers, Susan describes herself as being half polenta and red wine and half grits and sweet tea; cooking and sharing stories around the kitchen table is her idea of relaxation. A former chef and freelance writer for local lifestyle magazines, she blogs about the spiritual aspects of hospitality and community at www.thesharedtable.com.
Susan is a speaker and speaker trainer for Stonecroft Ministries and shares her testimony, “Leaving the Safety and Security of Your Shell,” throughout the mid-south region. She has published a book titled, Holidazed: How to Slow Down, Spend Less and Restore Sanity to the Holidays. It is available on Kindle. She and her husband, Roger, have been involved in leading worship and planting churches in CA, FL and GA and NC. They write and perform contemporary Christian music and have released an album called, “Watch Expectantly.”
Rebecca Trammel is the worship leader at 828 Church. She is the founder of RTC4C, Ruthie Trammel’s Champions for Compassion, a non-profit whose mission is to restore hope to those fighting addiction and mental illness. She is a spirit-filled, passionate worship leader who found healing and restoration herself at the very first Beauty for Ashes retreat in February of 2016. Our hearts have been united ever since. Rebecca was on the worship team for Beauty for Ashes II in August, is on the ministry board for BFA, and will be the worship leader for the February 2017 retreat.
