What Scripture Speaks to You?

Because of the Lord’s great love
we are not consumed,
for His compassions never
fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness…
(Lamentations 3:22,23)

My energy level affects my perspective. So, when I dragged myself down the stairs this morning I discovered a heaviness in my heart as I thought of the day ahead. Suddenly I wanted to quit everything. I began to counsel myself to retire some of the different hats I sport throughout the week.

I wrote my woes and worries in my journal filling up the page all the way to the bottom. At the bottom of each page is different scripture. That’s when I read this verse from Lamentations: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed.

I didn’t even realize I felt consumed until I read those words.

I love it when God does that.

The Word of God speaks to us on many different levels. Jeremiah wrote these words promising Israel of their hope for salvation. But this morning I believe God used it to tell me to keep on keepin’ on and to let me know that He is with me in all of my activities. “Keep wearing your different hats.”

What scripture has spoken to you lately? How did it encourage you?

Much grace and peace,
andy
