Trials

We have a new family member–well, a potential family member who we are keeping during a trial period. Trial to see how the cat fares. Trial to see if Drew’s allergies can handle it. Trial to see if my 21 year old daughter can manage being a dog owner.

And it’s ironic that now that I’ve chosen to make a schedule, I’ve said yes to bringing a creature in the house who requires a lot of work and disrupts any semblance of order.

And it makes me wonder…how many trials do I invite in my life that aren’t necessary? How many of those trials are worth it and how many aren’t?

The jury’s still out on this one. But he is awfully cute. And I think Mike Lee likes him.

Maybe…just maybe this trial will be worth it.

Consider it pure joy my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance (James 1:2).

Much love,
andy
