fear, worry

If Fear and Anxiety Threaten Your Peace Too

If fear and anxiety threaten

It’s been such a fearful week for many.

The Paris massacre.

Jews stabbed in Tel Aviv.

Threats to the U.S.

I’ve had to stop watching the news.

Images of ISIS and their propaganda videos are wearing on this not normally anxious woman. I’ve never understood anxiety until the other night when the news images would not let my mind sleep.

It took be by surprise. But I knew that my anxious thoughts connected me with many kindred spirits also turning and tossing in bed.

So, I thought that if I couldn’t sleep last night, maybe somebody reading my blog couldn’t either. I offer these suggestions to help us keep the faith and find peace inside us during this tumultuous time.

  • Don’t watch the news. (Keep up with the news by radio if you feel you need too. But don’t watch the images.)
  • Light a candle and pray lifting your hands in worship (Psalm 63:4)
  • Read, journal and pray scriptures of God’s faithfulness, protection, and goodness (Here’s a few to get us started.)

5 Scriptures for Worry

I’ve got your hand. I’m praying for you.

He’s in control.

  2. The world does seem to be getting more and more unsettled. Things like this have existed for a long time, but we haven’t always been exposed to it. So sad. They’ve bought satan’s lie, and don’t even realize how desperately they need Jesus. :( Good reminder to keep the Word of God in our hearts to keep our minds healthy. Thanks for sharing. :) Visiting you from the Faith and Friday linkup this morning. ((blessings))
