Bite of Bread: Good Verses for Everyday

There’s a reason why I make a Bite of Bread reading plan every week.

It’s not for the money nor the fame. Obviously.

It’s simply because I feel called to do so.

I’ve learned how one verse can draw me closer to God. One scripture can speak to the depths of my soul right when I need it the most.

[bctt tweet=”The Bible is one way God speaks to us. It’s also one way we can speak to Him. Everyday.” username=”wordsbyandylee”]

But sometimes we don’t know where to start when reading the Bible. We don’t know what to read, so we need a suggestion to guide us for the day. There’s no magic in the choices, but I’m amazed when a verse that I chose weeks ahead of time speaks to me or one of the Bite of Bread readers for that day. When it’s just what you need, you know the Holy Spirit is involved.

Use these verses this week to start a conversation with God. Not a monologue, a conversation that includes listening.

This week has no set theme; they are simply verses that will lift your spirit and help focus your thoughts on God and hopefully give you something to talk to Him about besides a laundry list of requests.

And I’ve got a feeling that one of these scriptures will be just what somebody needs this week. No doubt.

So, you don’t want to miss what God has for you. Grab a pen and jot down the BoB. Then light a candle, pour some coffee or hot tea, and enjoy. Sit in the presence of wisdom and grace. And if you want to dig deeper with me, come on over to my house at 8:20 ET Monday-Friday morning via my Facebook Live broadcast.  Click the link to find out how to join us.

May I pray you up? Grab my hands.

“Dear Heavenly Father, you know each heart reading this. You know the heartache, fear, grief, struggle, and joy. You know us, and you love us right where we are. God, I pray that these scriptures will be comforting, affirming, and encouraging. We walk by faith and not by sight. I pray they will help us talk with you this week. Let us experience Holy Spirit through your Word. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.”

  2. It’s so true Andy! The Holy Spirit is at work in the scripture, leading us to the comforting, encouraging, admonishing and guiding words we need to hear. I LOVE to hear stories of your selections from weeks ago being ‘just’ the message a reader needed that day. You are His instrument.

    1. Thank you Cathy! I know you experience it too with your readers. You too are His instrument.
