Bite of Bread: 7 Scriptures to Help You Trust God when Prayers aren’t Answered

 Scriptures to trust God

What do you do when the answer doesn’t come?

You’ve prayed and prayed.

Nothing.

What do you do when the answer doesn’t come as you prayed? When the answer is not what you believed.

The deal fell through. You didn’t get the job. The divorce became final, or cancer won the battle.

I’ve not experienced all these scenarios, but I’ve lived through grief, heartache, disappointments, and unanswered prayers as well as prayers not answered as I prayed.

On the other side of things, I’ve also felt God’s favor and blessings, and I’ve learned it’s easier to trust His faithfulness when everything falls into place. But I’ve discovered that it is paramount–so, so necessary for me to trust His faithfulness when everything seems to be falling apart.

Because if I don’t trust His faithfulness, I’m done. It all falls on my shoulders, and I can’t handle the responsibility.

But He can.

Always.

His timing is better than mine, and His wisdom greater.

Bite of Bread God's Faithfulness

Write out each one of these Bites in a journal one day at a time and “chew” on them. They are vital to our foundation of faith. I want to challenge you to memorize one! (You probably already have one or two memorized anyway–but pick a new one.)

Let’s meditate on God’s faithfulness. Use the verses in the BoB to springboard prayers of praise and worship. Thank Him for His faithfulness. And when your feel your stress rise:

  • Write down the times in your life God has been faithful.
  • Write down some of the stories in the Bible that you can recall about His faithfulness.
  • Ask the Lord to help you trust Him more and more.

I’ll be praying for you to experience His faithfulness in new ways so that you can trust Him more each day. Remember, greater trust in your Father-God equals less stress. I also believe it gives God room to move and shatters the enemy’s tactics.

I’ll be broadcasting on Periscope every morning at 8:20 ET. Click here if you want to know how to join us.
