Attributes of God (Part 1) #BiteofBread

Who is God?

Why do we believe in Him?

Why is He my God, your God?

Why would we trust this God?

We only trust the ones we know well. So, though it takes a lifetime of walking with God to really know Him, just like it takes years to cultivate relationships with friends and significant others, you got to start somewhere, and there is no better place than the Bible.

We started out the first week of 2017 reading scriptures about trusting God,because that is key to our faith, joy and peace (Romans 15:13). So, the next two weeks we will be studying fourteen attributes of God. These are really cool things about who God is and why we can trust Him.

I am basing my reading plan and my teaching on my Daily Broadcast from a great article I found on one of my favorite websites, BlueletterBible.org. This is the article, in case you want to do some extra reading.

Some of these are big words! But He is a big God. I pray this week as we read the verses and study the eternality, goodness, grace, holiness, immanence (active role in our lives), immutability (unchanging nature), and justice of our God, you will feel His power and faithfulness, strength, might, and wisdom.

There is no other God like ours. He alone can be trusted. I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me, (Isa 45:5)

It’s going to be a great week of study! Take a screen shot of the Bite of Bread plan or jot it down in your journal. Hope to see you at 8:20 ET Mon-Friday on FB!

Digging Deep to trust,
