My favorite joke is that I’m not the man they expected when I walked into the room!
I’m not a comedian either, unfortunately. I wish I were witty and funny, though I do make people chuckle once in awhile.
I’m not a football player or a wrestler either. That’s what you’ll get if you search my name on Google.
I’m a girl. I’m a simple girl from a little farm town in Oklahoma who didn’t know how to spell my new name (the girl way) twenty-five years ago when God gave me this one.
I was born Andrea, but like many biblical characters, God changed my name at a critical time in my life when I chose Jesus to be my Savior for a second and final time. It had been a lonely year without Him. I plunged into the waters of baptism and came out rubbing my hands together. I was ready to move forward with my calling and my faith never again to look back or deny Jesus.
The Challenges of Life
And then life happened. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Marriage, a war (literally–Desert Storm), babies, buried dreams, loved ones taken by cancer, empty nest syndrome (which I’m still navigating) and well . . . life.
Life is challenging.
I know what it’s like to have a life full of blessings while fighting a heart restless and depressed. I’ve found my hope time and time again in Jesus and the life inside the Bible. And that’s why I know how to dig deep to live fully.
I’ve learned how to do more than survive (for the most part!) It’s a day to day decision.
Come join this journey with me.
It’s more fun to dig deep with friends. You can subscribe to my weekly posts in the right sidebar. (Do you see it? Scroll down a little.) Or click here. When you subscribe, you get a 22 day devotional that will help you jump start digging deep into the Bible to live fully.
But the support doesn’t stop there. Every Monday you’ll receive a post with a reading plan called the Bite of Bread and a printable with the verses and prompts to deepen your quiet time with the Lord. And then you can join me on my daily broadcast or watch later on YouTube.
We’re in this together, for all eternity. Let’s rock it!
