5 Scriptures When You Need Hope

5 Scriptures when you need hope

Psalm 121:

I lift my eyes to the hills–

where does my help come from?

my help comes from the Lord,

the Maker of  Heaven and earth… (click here to read the entire Psalm).

Romans 8:28-39:

And we know in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.. . . What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? . . . No, in all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. . .(You’ve got to read the whole thing.)

Philippians 4: 4-8:

Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God. . . will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, watever is pure, whatever is lovely. . . think about such things. (Please read all of it.)

Revelation 21: 1-7:

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. . . And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and he will be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. . . . He who overcomes will inherit all of this, and I will be his God, and he will be my son. (Click to read the full passage.)

Romans 15:13:

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

It’s been a week of battle. Some of you may be weary, others pumped up. I myself feel a little drained. When I’m discouraged, hopeless about a situation, or just plain tired, nothing (not even calling a friend) helps me more than opening my Bible and reading verses of hope. The life in the Word waters my thirsty soul every time and re-charges me for the next day.

A long holiday weekend is coming up. I hope you can find time to dig into these five scriptures.

Meditate on them.

Dig.

You’ll be glad you did.

Will you do me a favor? If you are able to spend time in these scriptures this weekend, and they lift your spirits, will you please leave a comment later or share on our Fellowship page on Facebook.

Thank you for walking this journey with me.

Jesus loves you,
