July is quickly coming to an end, and as always, I’m amazed at how fast the month flew by. Though it is record breaking HOT in North Carolina, and August will be miserable because it always is, something in the air or the sky tells me a new season, a season of cooler weather, football games, and falling leaves is coming.

Rather ridiculous that I sense this change when it is so HOT now.

I’m really not sure if the angle of the sun or my anticipation of cooler days evoke this feeling. Maybe it’s a little of both.

Are you ready for a change of seasons? Can you feel it coming?

How about in your spiritual life? Are you ready for a change of season there too?

The lessons of God are all around us. We are not that much different than the trees (except they are more obedient than we are.) Whatever spiritual and life season you are in now will pass…it will change. And God is faithful to be with us in that change and to bring refreshment and purpose in the new season.

We can know this by God’s biblical and present day track record. If you are desiring a change of seasons, talk to Him about it! Journal the many times He has been faithful to you. Then journal about His faithfulness in the Bible. Stories of change- such as the Israelites escape out of Egypt, Saul becoming Paul, Peter denying Christ then receiving 3000 salvations after his first sermon…

God loves us just the way we are but He loves us too much to let us stay this way. Change for the better is coming. But we need to be willing and anticipating…hoping.

What are you hoping for?

Much grace,
andy

…But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not have we wait for it patiently (Romans 8:25).
